Great memories, and exciting times ahead. Valleywide Sober Softball is embarking upon a new chapter of play and existence.......

As the result of innovative thinking by our league's dedicated and longstanding board members: Morgan Moran, Pati Nugent, and Bruce McKee-- VWSS Coaches unanimously voted to have the Independent Umpire Association be the league's coordinator of field reservations, insurance compliance, league registration with our governing body, etc. on behalf of VWSS. Morgan, Pati, and Bruce also proposed that a VWSS Coaches' Board be elected which would function in collaboration with the Independent Umpire Association. Coaches unanimously elected the following individuals into office on Saturday August 7, 2010:

Antonia Pashos, Chair; Roger Bloss, Vice Chair; Courtney Penniman, Secretary; and Judy Becerra, Treasurer.

As the league's new board, we would like to pay a special tribute to Morgan, Pati, and Bruce for their tireless effort in operating the league and building a firm foundation for us to stand on. There are countless lives that have been impacted, and perhaps saved, as the result of VWSS. Without the efforts of Morgan, Patti, and Bruce to sustain the league's presence, that one person who chose to maintain sobriety in order to continue playing sober softball may have died without that commitment. Thank you Morgan, Pati, and Bruce for your tireless work and the countless lives you've touched; perhaps even far greater than we can imagine.
